How do you change picture formats on a mac computer?

I took a picture on photo booth and it's in JPEG format. I want to upload it onto myspace but it wont let me because it has to be in jpg,.gif,.bmp,.tiff,.png format. Can I change it?How do you change picture formats on a mac computer?
jpg and jpeg are the same file type, so you can just rename it. gif, bmp, tiff and png are all different, and they're all different than jpg, so renaming between them just causes the file to be useless. But you can open any of them in a graphics editor and save the picture as any other file type.How do you change picture formats on a mac computer?
If it's .jpeg format, just click it, press Return to rename it, and retype the extension from .jpeg to .jpg. Easy. You can also change it to .bmp or .png that way.
