Unfortunately, the video thumbnails are automatic and cannot be changed. They are, however strangely, varied somewhat by the filetype of the video. If you have an MP4 file, you could try converting it to M4V, or simply changing the extension of the file.

Open up the folder containing the movie you want to change the thumbnail for; if no extension is listed click Tools %26gt; Folder Options %26gt; View (for Vista: Organize %26gt; Folder and Search Options %26gt; View) and uncheck the box beside 'Hide extensions for known filetypes.' Then press 'Apply,' then 'OK,' and you should see the extension of your movie -- take note of it! Right-click on the original file and select, 'Rename,' then change the extension to something generic like 'zip' (eg. rename to 'movie.zip'). This will remove the original video (and unwanted preview thumbnail) from your library and prevent it from being cached by the system in the next step.

Now create a copy of this file, and change the copy's extension to a compatable video extension that is different than the original was -- MP4, M4V, etc. -- Zune will play regardless. Now add the COPY into your Zune video library and with any luck it should have a different thumbnail. Once all is done, you can delete the original or simply move it somewhere else and change its extension back. How can i change the picture that shows up next a zune video?
On the zune software copy the movie to your collection (if it already isn't) then copy the movie art (you know right click; copy) then under the Collection/video tab right click and select %26quot;paste album art%26quot;. Hope this works for you.
