How do I change my picture for my YouTube account?

I know you need to use a picture from an existing YouTube video, but how do you do this? I found an old Q%26amp;A here but since YouTube has changed their format, it doesn't help me.How do I change my picture for my YouTube account?
You can put a single photo as your profile picture.



1. Go to your channel, and select 'Edit Channel'



2. Now go to the “My Account” link at the top of the screen and click on it. (ignore all the min tabs underneath it)



3. It should already be selected under the heading “overview”. And there will be a box with the default picture right beside your channel name; underneath the box is a link “change”. Click on the “change” link.



4. Now select a picture from a folder on your computer (e.g. My Pictures)

You can upload background images hosted on YouTube to create a customized background image for your channel. Please follow the steps below to change your channel's background image:



1. Sign in and click 'Account' (in the upper right corner of the page).

2. Click the large blue 'My Account' link in the top left hand corner of the screen.

3. From the 'My Account' drop-down menu, select the ''My Channel'' option.

4. In the left hand navigation section, click 'Channel Design'.

5. Under Advanced Design Customization section locate the 'Background Image' section, and click the 'Browse' button.

6. Find an image that you'd like to appear as your Channel's background and select the file.

7. Don't forget to click the 'Update Channel' button to save your changes!

8. You can then click the 'View your public channel' hyperlink (in the top right hand corner of the page) to see the edits you made on your channel.



The image you've uploaded should be viewable within 6 hours.
